This was my first-ever credit card, and I only noticed a couple years ago that the perks are pretty sweet: 3% cash back on groceries, gas, and online retail.
Cash back is always my preferred perk. And your sign-on bonus for this no-annual-fee card would be $200 (statement credit, rules apply, etc.)
I fell for the hype. While this is consistently ranked as one of the top travel credit cards a non-famous person can carry, there's no fee-free version you can downgrade to (as is the case with the Chase Sapphire Reserve card family). There are other cards in this AMEX family, but they all have annual fees.
So, if you're ready to make the leap (and drop $$$ on the annual fee), you'd get 80,000 points as your sign-on bonus! (Rules apply and such.)
